Who What Where When Why

The picture you see in the background was taken six years ago at the first reunion with the families we traveled to China with to adopt these cutie pies- the experience that changed my life and aspirations forever. Getting to be a part of that experience- even at the age of 10- opened my eyes to another world not often exposed to Americans. Ever since that trip, my dream has been to go back to China and volunteer in an orphanage like my sister and the other kids in the background spent their first year of life in and to possibly be a part of helping one child find their forever family as well. Now I get to live out that dream by spending two and a half weeks in China!
This summer, I'll be using this blog to record my trip as I embark on the adventure of a lifetime! On July 25th at 6:30 am, three other ladies and I will be boarding a plane for China! The majority of our first week will be spent sightseeing in Hong Kong and Beijing. The rest of the time will be spent in Fuzhou at the campus of Loaves and Fishes International in their special needs orphaned child center: Hidden Treasures Home. This orphanage takes on the heavy burden of taking in children with special needs that other orphanages don't feel like they can handle. I am so excited to have the opportunity to volunteer at this amazing place.
I want to invite you to follow along in my journey, follow the blog, and refer friends and family to check it out too. My biggest prayer in all of this is that at least one child will be united with their forever family. I want to be these kids biggest advocate so I'll be posting pictures and approved descriptions about the kids I meet, in hopes of reaching prospective adoptive families. This is a great opportunity for anyone who may be considering international adoption to get the opportunity to join along in my journey. I will be actively updating the blog while in China- posting tons of pictures and every detail of the trip that I think worthy of someone's time reading. :) So, if you or someone you know may be thinking about adoption press that share button and tag 'em! To make life easier on everyone, when I make a new post, I'll share the post link to Facebook. If you have any questions, please comment and I'll do my best to answer them in my next post! Thanks a bunch to everyone who has played a part in making this trip possible!
